Quartet 212 to Perform in Dudamel Residency
Quartet 212 (David Chan and Catherine Ro, violins; Dov Scheindlin, viola; Rafael Figueroa, cello) will perform at Princeton University’s Richardson Auditorium on December 2, 2018 as part of Gustavo Dudamel’s residency for the 2018-19 season. The ensemble, which comprises leading members of New York’s famed Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, will present a program reflecting the diverse range of chamber music and highlighting music’s intimate relationship with the human voice.
The concert will open with Haydn’s Quartet in D Major “Frog,” Op. 50, No. 6; and conclude with Verdi’s Quartet in e minor (1873). In between, the quartet will also perform Respighi’s “Il tramonto” (The Sunset) with mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo from the Met’s Lindemann Young Artists Development Program, and a world premiere work by Princeton faculty member Donnacha Dennehy.
